What are stablecoins?
Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies that try to peg their value to something external. For example, there are many stablecoins pegged to U.S dollar and there also many stablecoins pegged to gold or other commodities.
Compared to other cryptos, stablecoins are, as the name says, more stable. And their price is not meant to fluctuate too much.
Stablecoins can sort of be used as an alternative to real-world fiat currencies in that sense. Stablecoins can also be used to buy other, more volatile, cryptocurrencies.
But in the world of cryptos, there are no risk-free investments. We all remember the crash of Terra Luna's stablecoin UST.

Currently the most popular stablecoin is possibly Tether (USDT), followed by BUSD.

You can buy stablecoins in all cryptocurrency exchanges. But just to mention a few of them:
